Existing Paid Subscriptions/Free Trials: If you currently have an active paid subscription or free trial, you cannot redeem your NYSUT benefit until your current plan is canceled and expires. How to Redeem via the Calm Mobile App
If you are a new user, first download the Calm app for iPhone/iPad or Android and create a free account using your personal email address.
Open the Calm app and log in to your account.
Tap Profile in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
Tap the Settings (gear icon ⚙️) in the top left-hand corner.
Select Link Organization Subscription.
Type NYSUT Member Benefits when prompted for your organization's name, then tap Continue.
Enter your NYSUT ID# to validate your eligibility and tap Submit.
Once you see the success page, tap the Home button. Your Premium content will now be unlocked.
How to Redeem via the Website
Note: For the best experience, we recommend using the Google Chrome web browser.
Go to the NYSUT Calm Subscription Portal.
Log in to your existing Calm account, or sign up for a free account.
Enter your NYSUT ID# to validate your eligibility.
Once confirmed, your subscription will unlock. You can now download the app via Apple App Store or Google Play Store and log in with these same credentials.
Troubleshooting & Frequently Asked Questions
The Premium content is still showing a locked symbol. What should I do?
First, verify that you are logged in using the exact same email address you used to redeem your subscription.
To verify on the website: Click Log in in the upper right corner.
To verify in the app: Tap Profile -> Sign up or Log in. If you see "Create your Calm account," tap Log in at the bottom.
If you are logged into the wrong account, follow these steps to log out and reset:
Tap Profile (bottom right) -> Settings (gear icon ⚙️) (top left).
Scroll to the bottom and select Log out.
Force-close and re-launch the Calm app.
Go back to Profile and select Log in to enter your correct email.
Ensure your app is updated to the latest version.
If content remains locked, contact our team at Calm Support Team and include a screenshot of the locked content along with your Calm account email.
I see an error message while trying to redeem.

How do I share my Calm benefit with my dependents?
NYSUT members can invite a select number of family members or friends to access Calm Premium for free.

What happens if I leave NYSUT?
If you are no longer an active or retiree NYSUT member, you will retain your history on your free Calm account, but you will lose Premium access. Premium features will expire at the end of the calendar month in which you are removed from the NYSUT membership file (e.g., if removed on April 15th, access ends on April 30th).
