This article explains how to redeem promotional discounts for Calm Premium and answers common questions about eligibility.
What to Know Before You Begin: Promotions vs. Partnerships
Calm Promotional Offers are Direct Campaigns: These are special discounts sent directly from Calm (for example, via our marketing emails). They are not partnerships.
Partner Offers are Separate: If you are trying to redeem an offer through a third-party partner (such as a health insurance provider, employer, or brand), that is a separate process. You may check out Promotional Offers through Calm Partners instead.
How to Redeem an Email Discount
If you received an email offering a discount, click or tap the button labeled “View Offer”. You should be directed to a purchase page displaying the discount price.
Important: Website Only (The "App Trap")
This discount is only available through the Calm website. If you don't see the offer, your device is likely opening the link inside the Calm app by mistake. To ensure you stay on the website, please try the following options:
Open the link on a desktop computer using a web browser (we recommend Google Chrome).
On your phone, tap and hold the link until a menu appears, then select "Open in New Tab".
Open the email through a dedicated email application (such as the Gmail app) and tap the link.
Account Requirements & Exclusions
Do I need a new account? No. You do not need to create a new account. Simply sign in to your existing Calm account (make sure this account does not currently have an active subscription).
Family Plans: We are not able to apply a subscription discount to the purchase of a Calm Premium Family Plan at this time.
Gift Cards: We are not able to apply a subscription discount to gift cards at this time.
Can I get a discount right now? If you're interested in a discount, we recommend creating a free Calm account to be added to our mailing list so you receive special offers. (You can also view our selection of completely free content here).
Rules for Existing Subscribers & Free Trials
"I currently have a 7-day free trial. Can I use the discount?"
First, you must cancel your free trial to avoid being charged full price at the end of the trial period. (Learn how to cancel your free trial here).
Wait until the trial period has ended and the free access has expired.
Once expired, you can subscribe using the promotional discount link you received.
"I already have a paid subscription. Can I use the discount to extend my yearly plan?"
No. Promotional discounts are designed for Calm users who do not already have an active subscription.
Using this offer will not extend your current expiration date by 1 year. Instead, it activates a new subscription starting on the date of purchase (expiring 1 year from that date). We are unable to change the expiration date.
The Solution: You can cancel your current subscription and use the discount to make a new subscription purchase once your current billing period ends. (Learn how to cancel a subscription here).
Note: We do not offer any rebates or refunds on subscription purchases beyond 30 days of purchase.
Troubleshooting
When I click the link, I am logged in as someone else.
This happens if you are following a link that was emailed to a different Calm user, and then forwarded to you. Please only use discount links sent directly to the email address on your Calm account, otherwise, the discount will not be correctly applied.
I followed the link, but I am not seeing the discounted price.
Many of our discount offers are available for a limited time and are subject to the terms of the original offer. Our yearly and lifetime subscription discounts are not available all year long, so your link may have expired.
I just purchased using the discount, but my Premium content is still locked.
Please ensure that you are logged into the Calm app using the exact same credentials you just used to purchase the subscription on the website. (Visit this page for more information on how to log in).
I am getting a credit card error.
