You can connect the Calm app to Health Connect on your Android device to automatically track your mindfulness sessions outside of Calm.
Note for Google Fit users: Google is deprecating Google Fit by the end of 2026; therefore, Calm has migrated to Health Connect as of July 2026. If you previously connected Calm to Google Fit, sessions completed in July 2026 on Calm app version 6.100 and above will no longer appear in Google Fit. We recommend downloading Google Health as a replacement, which is compatible with Health Connect, noted in the 'Viewing Your Sessions' section further down.
How to Enable Health Connect Syncing
To connect the Calm app to Health Connect, follow these steps:
- Download Health Connect from the Google Play Store. Click to open, and you'll be taken to Health Connect's settings directly rather than a separate app.
- From Health Connect's settings, find Calm in the list of app permissions and tap to allow it.
- Open the Calm app and tap Profile in the bottom right corner.
- Tap the Settings (Gear icon ⚙️) in the upper left corner.
- Locate the "Save to Health Connect" setting and toggle it to the ON position.
- Allow all permissions requested to allow Calm to write Mindfulness data.
Once connected, your completed sessions will sync as Mindfulness data in Health Connect.
What Calm Sessions Count as Mindfulness Data?
Please note that Scenes, Soundscapes, and Music do not count as Mindfulness data in Health Connect. Only active, guided sessions (such as Dailies, Meditations, Breathing Exercises, and Sleep Stories) are counted.
Viewing Your Sessions
Health Connect does not have its own visual dashboard. It's a background system for sharing data between apps, not an app with charts or trends. To see a visual history of your sessions, we recommend the Google Health app (formerly Fitbit), which reads directly from Health Connect and tracks your mindfulness minutes and mindful days
- Download the Google Health app from the Google Play Store.
- Sign in with your Google account.
- Enable the Health Connect connection when prompted from the home screen.
- Allow a few minutes for your Calm sessions to sync.
Note: Moving your historical Google Fit data to Google Health is handled directly by Google, not Calm. Google has announced a migration tool for this but hasn't yet published full details. You can check Google's support site for the latest.
Troubleshooting & Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't I see the "Save to Health Connect" toggle in my Calm settings?
You may need to first download or access Health Connect from your Android device (Steps 1 and 2 above) to view the toggle in Calm. Alternatively, reinstalling the Calm app should restore the toggle in Profile > Settings.
Why aren't my Calm sessions showing in Google Fit?
If your Calm app has been updated to a version above 6.100, your mindfulness sessions will no longer sync to Google Fit. Additionally, Google Fit cannot read data from Health Connect; therefore, sessions completed in Calm after connecting to Health Connect with version 6.100 and above will no longer appear in the Google Fit app. This is expected as part of Google's own deprecation of Google Fit, not a Calm issue.
Is Calm's Health Connect integration supported on all Android devices?
Yes, as long as your device is running Android 8.1 and above. Health Connect is built natively into Android 14+. On Android 13 and below, it's available as a separate download from the Google Play Store.
