Important Note on App Limitations and Refunds
Do not use the app to redeem your invite: You must accept your Calm for Dependents invitation using a web browser (desktop or mobile), not within the Calm app itself.
Refund eligibility: Full refunds for existing annual subscriptions are only available within 30 days of purchase and vary by payment method (detailed below).
If you are transitioning an existing, paid Calm Premium subscription over to a free Calm for Dependents benefit provided by a family member or friend, your saved favorites, downloads, and session history will not be lost.
Follow the steps below to make the switch seamlessly.
Step 1: Cancel your current subscription
Before you can activate your new dependent benefit, you must stop the auto-renewal on your existing paid account.

Once canceled, your account will remain eligible to accept a dependent invite.
Step 2: Accept your dependent invitation
Locate the invitation link sent to you. This will arrive via email or be shared with you directly by the employee providing the benefit.
Open a web browser (like Safari or Chrome). Do not use the Calm app for this step.
Click the Accept Invite button within the notification or link.
Log in using your existing Calm account credentials to merge your history with the free benefit.

Can I get a refund for my previous yearly subscription?
Refund eligibility depends entirely on how and when you purchased your original subscription:
Purchased via Calm.com or Google Play Store: We happily issue refunds for annual subscriptions purchased within the last 30 days. We cannot issue refunds for purchases older than 30 days. Please view How to Request a Refund to submit a request.
Purchased via Apple App Store: Apple manages its own billing. You must request a refund directly through them. While they typically honor requests within 30 days, it is at their sole discretion. Contact them via Apple Customer Support.
Who is eligible to join as a dependent?
Employees with a Calm benefit can invite a select number of family members or friends.
Age Requirement: All dependents must be 16 years of age or older to create an account.
Do dependents share a single Calm account?
No. Each dependent creates and logs into their own individual account using a unique email address and password.
Your session history, daily streaks, check-ins, and personal statistics are completely private. They are never shared with other dependents or the employee who gifted you the benefit.
