Because your Calm subscription, listening history, and mindfulness streak are all tied to your Calm account email address (and not your physical device), moving to a new phone is easy!
To ensure a seamless transition to your new device, please follow the steps below based on what type of phone you are upgrading to.
Step 1: Verify Your Account (Before You Switch!)
Before getting rid of your old phone, open the Calm app and navigate to Profile > Settings (gear icon) > Account Info. Verify the exact email address you used to create your Calm account. As long as you know this email address and your password, all of your saved data will safely sync to your new device!

Scenario A: Upgrading to the Same Type of Phone (e.g., iPhone to iPhone, or Android to Android)
If you are sticking with the same operating system, transferring is effortless:
Download the Calm app on your new phone.
Tap Log In and enter your Calm email address and password.
Your Premium subscription, history, and streaks will immediately appear! Your billing will continue to auto-renew as normal through your Apple or Google Play account.
Scenario B: Switching to a Different Platform (e.g., iPhone to Android, or Android to iPhone)
If you are switching operating systems, your data and streak will still transfer when you log in, but your billing will not. Apple and Google do not share billing information with each other.
Because your new phone will not have your old app store on it, you must cancel your old auto-renewal to avoid being charged for a subscription you can no longer manage.
If switching from Android to iOS: You must cancel your subscription via the Google Play Store. To do this, see Google's support article here: Cancel, pause, or change a subscription on Google Play
If switching from iOS to Android: You must cancel your subscription via your Apple ID. You can do this on an older Apple device, or by contacting Apple directly at https://getsupport.apple.com/.
Note: Canceling auto-renewal does not end your Premium access immediately! You will continue to have Premium access until your current billing cycle expires. Once it expires, you can simply open the Calm app on your new phone and purchase a new subscription through your new app store.
Pro Tip: Re-download Your Offline Content!
While your listening history and streak will automatically sync via the cloud, any content you previously downloaded for offline listening (like Sleep Stories or Music) was saved locally to your old phone's hard drive. When you log in on your new device, your Downloads tab will be empty. Be sure to re-download your favorite offline tracks before your next flight or commute!
