Check-ins are a great way to bring more awareness to how you are feeling over time. This feature provides a dedicated space in the Calm app to record your mood, sleep quality, gratitude, and personal reflections.
The 4 Types of Check-Ins
Mood: Keep a journal of what is impacting your emotions by choosing from a dozen different moods.
Sleep: Track your sleep quality, log the exact amount of sleep you had, and select the various factors that impacted your rest that night.
Gratitude: Answer daily prompts (ranging from “What are you grateful for today?” to “What inspired you today?”) and list up to three reasons for your choice.
Mindfulness (Daily Calm Reflection): Based on the Daily Calm, you can reflect and answer the specific prompt provided from that day to express your thoughts.
How to Find and Log a New Check-In
To log a new Check-In, follow these steps:
Tap the Discover tab at the bottom of your screen.
Underneath the daily content, locate the Navigation menu.
Swipe left on the Navigation menu and tap Mindful Tools.
Scroll down to the Check-Ins section (located just below Breathing Exercises).
Swipe across the boxes to view the different types of Check-Ins, or tap 'See All' to view them on a single page.
Tap the Check-In you wish to complete.
How to View or Delete Your Check-In History
You can review all of your past journal entries and track your progress over time.
Tap Profile in the bottom right corner of the Calm app.
Tap Check-Ins (located just below the Profile title).
Here you can review your entire check-in history.
To delete an entry: If there is a specific log you no longer want, you can easily delete it directly from this screen.
Important Note for Android Users: Currently, you cannot add a new Mood Check-In directly from the History screen on an Android device. To log a new mood, you must follow the "How to Find and Log a New Check-In" steps outlined in the section above.
Troubleshooting: Missing Pre-Meditation Prompts
I accidentally selected 'Never Show Again' on the pre-meditation Mood Check-In. How can I turn these check-ins back on?
To bring back the automatic pre-meditation Check-In prompt, you will need to completely delete and reinstall the Calm app on your device.
Don't worry! Deleting the app from your phone will not delete your Calm account or erase your data. After reinstalling the app, simply log back in. All of your subscription details, session history, past check-ins, and favorites will still be there.
