Calm's Guest Pass feature allows you to share a 30-day free trial of Calm Premium with friends and family. This grants them full access to our entire library of meditations, Sleep Stories, music, and other Premium features.
What to Know Before You Begin (Eligibility & Rules)
Who is eligible to receive a pass? The recipient must be completely new to Calm. They cannot have an active subscription, and they must never have completed a free trial of Calm Premium in the past.
Payment information is required: The recipient must enter payment details to start the 30-day free trial. They will not be charged if they cancel before the 30 days are up.
Auto-renewal: At the end of the 30-day trial period, the pass will automatically renew into a yearly Calm Premium subscription unless the recipient cancels it.
Sending limits: You can send unlimited Guest Passes, but each recipient can only redeem one pass.
How to Share a Guest Pass (For Senders)
Note: Guest passes can only be sent from the Calm mobile app. This feature is not available on the Calm website.
Steps to share:
Open the Calm app and log in to your account.
Tap the Bell Icon in the upper right corner of the Home screen to open the Notification Center Hub.
Tap "Share a 30-day free trial".
Choose how you want to send your unique link (e.g., via text message, email, or another messaging app).
Note: You can also share from Profile > Dashboard.
How to Redeem a Guest Pass (For Recipients)
If someone sent you a Guest Pass, follow the instructions below based on your device to activate your 30-day free trial.
Option A: On iOS (iPhone or iPad)
Download the Calm app from the App Store.
Click the Guest Pass link that was sent to you.
Select Log in (if you have a free account) or create a new free Calm account.
Follow the on-screen prompts to redeem and activate the free trial securely through the App Store.
Option B: On Android, Web, or Other Platforms
Open the Guest Pass link you received in a web browser (Do not open it directly in the Calm app).
Select Log in (if you have a free account) or create a new free Calm account.
Enter your payment details on the web page to activate the free trial.
Troubleshooting: If the link accidentally redirects you to a standard 7-day trial instead of the 30-day offer, try reopening the link using a desktop computer browser.
How to cancel auto-renewal: If you do not wish to be charged for a full year of Calm Premium, you must cancel auto-renewal before your 30-day trial expires.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to input my payment details to start my Guest Pass? Yes. Payment information is required to activate your 30-day free trial of Calm Premium through Guest Pass. You will not be charged unless you choose to continue the subscription after the trial period ends.
Can I send a Guest Pass to someone who already actively uses Calm? No. Only users who have never trialed Calm in the past and do not have an active subscription are eligible for the 30-day free trial through a Guest Pass.
