We frequently release updates to the Calm app to introduce new features, add fresh content, and fix technical bugs. To ensure you have the best possible experience, we highly recommend keeping your app updated to the latest version.
Not sure if you need an update? Learn how to check which version of the Calm app you are currently running here:How to Check Which App Version You Are Running.
Here is how to check for updates depending on your device:
How to Update on iOS (iPhone & iPad)
Open the App Store on your device.
Tap your Profile icon at the top right of the screen.
Scroll down to see pending updates and release notes.
Find Calm in the list and tap Update next to it. (Note: If it says "Open" instead of "Update," you are already on the latest version!)
How to Update on Android
Open the Google Play Store app.
Tap your Profile icon at the top right of the screen.
Tap Manage apps & device.
Under the "Updates available" section, tap See details.
Find Calm in the list and tap Update.
Pro Tip: Enable Automatic Updates
If you don't want to worry about manually checking for new versions, you can set your device to update Calm automatically in the background!
For iOS: Go to your device Settings > App Store and toggle App Updates to ON under the Automatic Downloads section.
For Android: Open the Google Play Store, go to the Calm app page, tap the three dots in the top right corner, and check the box for Enable auto update.
Troubleshooting: The App Won't Update?
If you are tapping "Update" but the download is stuck or failing, try the following quick fixes:
Check device compatibility: If you do not see an "Update" button but know a new version exists, your device's operating system might be too old to support it. Please ensure your device meets our minimum operating system requirements (e.g., updating your iPhone to the newest iOS or Android to the newest OS).
Check your connection: Ensure you are connected to a strong Wi-Fi network. Large updates sometimes will not download over a weak Cellular connection.
Check your storage: Your device may not have enough free storage space to download the update. Try deleting old photos or unused apps to free up space.
Restart your device: A simple phone restart often clears up temporary app store glitches.
