If you are experiencing crashes, freezing, or endless loading screens with the Calm app, follow these steps in order to resolve the issue and get back to your practice.
Step 1: Check Your Connection & VPNs
Switch networks: Try switching your phone from WiFi to Cellular data (or vice versa). If the app suddenly works on Cellular, the issue is likely your WiFi network. Resetting your home router may help Calm reconnect to our servers.
Test other apps: Try opening another app on your device that requires internet (like YouTube or your web browser) to narrow down if your phone has lost connection entirely.
Disable VPNs or Ad Blockers: Some VPNs and mobile ad blockers block the specific connections required to load Calm's media servers. Temporarily turn these off in your phone's settings and try playing your content again.
Step 2: Force Quit & Refresh
Sometimes the app just needs a fresh start to clear a temporary glitch.
Force Quit: Close the Calm app completely (by swiping up and away from your screen) and relaunch it.

Step 3: Check for App Updates
Bugs and crashing issues are often fixed in our newest app versions.
Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) on your device.
Search for "Calm" and see if there is an Update button available. Ensure you are running the latest version.
Step 4: Reinstall the Calm App
If the steps above did not work, deleting and reinstalling the app is the best way to clear out corrupted files.
⚠️ Important Warning Before Deleting: Deleting the app will not cancel your subscription or delete your account data, but it will delete any offline content you have downloaded. You will need to re-download your saved offline stories after reinstalling.
How to Reinstall: Delete the app from your home screen, restart your phone, and download Calm again from your device's app store.
Log back in: Log in with your existing account details. If you see a promotional payment screen upon logging back in, simply look for an 'X' or 'Restore Purchase' to dismiss it and return to your home screen.
