Calm is a meditation, sleep, and relaxation app, available in both the App Store and Google Play store. We are dedicated to introducing our worldwide Calm Community to the amazing benefits of mindfulness.
Launched in 2012 by Alex Tew and Michael Acton Smith, Calm was named by Apple as the 2017 iPhone App of the Year; by Google Play as an “Editors' Choice” in 2018; and found by a major study of 200,000 iPhone users to be “the world’s happiest app” – the single app that left users feeling happiest from spending time on it.
Calm creates unique audio content that strengthens mental fitness and tackles some of the biggest mental health challenges of today: stress, anxiety, insomnia, and depression. The most popular feature of Calm is a 10-minute meditation called, 'The Daily Calm,' which explores a fresh mindful theme and inspiring concept each day. Calm also contains 250+ Sleep Stories (bedtime stories for all ages), plus sleep music, meditation lessons, nature sounds, Calm Masterclasses delivered by world experts, and more.
The Calm app is free to download and some free content is available, but a paid subscription to Calm Premium unlocks access to Calm's entire content library.
The heart of Calm is digital but Calm is also expanding offline in various ways that bring more peace, clarity, and perspective into people’s busy lives. It has partnered with Penguin to publish the Calm Book, and has plans for so much more.
