Upgrading to the Calm Premium Family Plan
Avoid Double Billing
If you pay via Apple or Google: Buying a Family Plan does NOT cancel your old subscription. You must manually cancel it in your phone settings to stop future charges.
If you pay via Calm.com: Our system will automatically cancel your old individual plan when you upgrade.
Step 1: Check Your Current Subscription
Before you upgrade, know who charges you.
Open the Calm app > Profile > Settings (Gear icon).
Tap Manage Subscription.
Look for "Apple," "Google," or "Calm.com."
Step 2: The Upgrade Process
Scenario A: I pay via Apple (iPhone) or Google Play (Android)

Cancel First: Go to your phone settings and cancel your current individual subscription: How to Cancel Your Subscription or Free Trial
Note: You will keep your remaining paid time.

Wait (Recommended): We suggest waiting until your current subscription expires before buying the Family Plan to get the full value.
Why? We cannot refund or pro-rate your unused time.
Buy Family Plan: Visit www.calm.com/family to purchase the new plan ($99.99/year).
Invite Others: You are now the Admin!
Scenario B: I pay directly via Calm.com
Go to Family Page: Log in and visit www.calm.com/family.
Purchase: Buy the plan.

Automatic Switch: Our system will automatically stop your old individual billing and start the new Family billing.
Note: The new Family year starts immediately. Any remaining time on your old plan is forfeited (not refunded).
Scenario C: I am a Lifetime Member
Can I switch? You cannot "convert" your Lifetime Membership into a Family Plan, nor can you add family members for free.

The Solution: You can purchase a Family Plan separately to share with others.
Log in to your Lifetime account at www.calm.com/family.
Purchase the Family Plan subscription.
Result: You retain your personal Lifetime status forever, but you will now also pay the annual fee for the Family Plan slots you share with others.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my history get deleted? No! As long as you log in with the same email address, all your favorites, stats, and session history will transfer to the Family Plan automatically.
Can I get a discount for my unused months? No. We cannot apply the cost of your previous subscription toward the Family Plan. This is why we recommend waiting for your current plan to expire before switching.
