Calm through Spotify

Calm has partnered with Spotify to provide a 1-month free trial to Calm Premium for eligible Free and Premium Tier Spotify users. Note, this offer is only available to users that haven't redeemed a free trial in the past.

I am a new Calm user wanting to subscribe to Calm via Spotify

You can sign up for a Calm Premium subscription via Spotify’s platform if you are either a Free or Premium Tier Spotify user.

To redeem, follow the steps below or visit calm.com/spotify: 

1. After confirming you are logged in to your Spotify account, navigate to Calm content by searching for Calm in the search bar and filtering by “podcasts & shows”.
2. Locate a piece of content that is locked. You can identify that content by looking for the padlock icon in place of the play button.
3. A small popup may appear, select the option Get Access
4. Select Link Account to allow permission to link Spotify and Calm
5. You’ll be redirected to Calm’s website where you will have the option to create an account. 
   • You can create an account using your First Name, Email, and creating a password.
   • You also have the option to select from creating an account with Facebook, Apple, or Google Sign in.
6. Once your account is created, confirm which subscription type you are interested in. You have the option to select a Yearly or Monthly subscription. If on a mobile device, select Continue when you’ve selected a subscription type.
   • Please note: Non-US users will only have access to the Yearly subscription at this time.
7. Select your payment method. Paypal, Apple Pay, Google Pay are available to choose from. You can also enter your credit or debit card information. When you’re ready, select Start Your Trial (if eligible) or Subscribe.
8. Welcome to Calm Premium! Tap Download Calm to install the app. Or, select Listen on Spotify to be redirected to Spotify.

I am an existing Calm user wanting to link my Calm account to Spotify

Existing Calm Premium users have the ability to link Calm to Spotify. 

To link your accounts, follow the steps below: 

1. After confirming you are logged in to your Spotify account, navigate to Calm content by searching for Calm in the search bar and filtering by “podcasts & shows”.
2. Locate a piece of content that is locked. You can identify that content by looking for the padlock icon in place of the play button.
3. A small popup may appear, select the option Get Access
4. Select Link Account to allow permission to link Spotify and Calm. You’ll be redirected to Calm’s website where you will see the option to create an account. 
5. Since you are already a Calm Premium user, select Log In located above the First Name form field. You’ll be redirected to the Login screen.
   • If you created your account in the past using the email and password option, please input your credentials.
   • Otherwise, select one of the 3rd party sign in options you used when you first created your Calm account. Facebook, Apple, or Google sign in options are available.
6. If you have an active Calm subscription, you will be automatically redirected to the Spotify app where your Calm content will now be unlocked. 

What content will be available on Spotify? What’s the difference between Calm content on Spotify and on the Calm app?

A wide selection of Calm’s Sleep Stories, meditations and mindfulness tools on Spotify are available through a variety of unique shows. We offer a large selection of free content to encourage sampling across our main content categories, though any Calm content marked with a lock icon will require a Calm subscription to gain access.

By downloading the Calm app, users can access Calm’s full range of premium content, features, and benefits, including 50,000+ hours of unique content, interactive tools like our Breathe Bubbles, personalized recommendations plus motivating features like reminders and streaks to help you maintain your progress.

I can’t find certain pieces of content on Spotify that are available on the Calm app

For access to Calm’s entire content library, you’ll need to download the Calm mobile app or visit calm.com/app, while having an active Calm Premium subscription. 

I’ve linked Calm to my Spotify account but my content is still locked

The first thing to do is make sure you are signed in to your Calm account using the same login credentials you used to activate your Calm account.

1. Start by unlinking Calm from Spotify. For more information on how to unlink Calm, visit: https://support.spotify.com/us/article/unlinking-from-third-party-creators/
2. In the Calm app, tap Profile in the bottom right corner, select Settings in the upper left corner, and swipe up to confirm what email was used to create your account on the bottom of the screen.
3. Once you’ve confirmed you’ve located the account associated with your Calm Premium subscription, select a locked piece of content by navigating to Calm content by searching for Calm in the search bar and filtering by “podcasts & shows”.
   • Apple users may have a masked email, or a Private Relay used during setup. Be sure to select the Apple sign in option when presented

If you have any further trouble accessing Calm's Premium content, please write to us here and provide a screenshot of the locked content as well as the confirmation page showing you purchased a Calm Premium subscription, along with the email address on your Calm account.

Will the Spotify offering be available to Calm Business users?

Any subscriber to Calm Premium, whether they subscribe as an individual or via their employee benefits, can link their account on Spotify and listen to all the content available on that app. 

Can I link my Calm account with more than one Spotify account?

No, Calm subscribers can only link their Calm account to a single Spotify account.
