A child’s age influences how they should be introduced to meditation, because of their stage of mental and emotional development so we recommend starting here. For this reason, we have created 'Calm Kids,' which includes beginner meditations for various age groups up to 18 years old.
The Calm Kids meditations can found on our website at the bottom of this page. You can also find these meditations in the Calm mobile app, under the 'Kids' category of the Meditate screen.
That said, the full library of content in the app is appropriate for all ages, so once you've gone through the Calm Kids meditations, we recommend exploring some of the other content in the app. Any of the meditations on the Meditate screen that are not a Series (such as the Breaking Habits Series) or a 7-day or 21-day program will have session options as short as 2-3 minutes, up to 30 minutes in length. If you aren't sure what to try, a short 'Body Scan' or 'Deep Concentration' session is a great place to start. We also have a 'College Collection' in the Beginners category, with sessions such as a 3-minute Study Break that can be applicable to middle and high school students as well. Lastly, our 'Emotions Series' and 'Winnie the Pooh' sessions tend to be popular with teachers and younger audiences.
Calm also includes more than 25 Sleep Stories for Kids which can be found in the 'Kids' category of the Sleep screen.
We recommend exploring Calm Body and the Breathe Bubble. Both of these can be found by tapping 'More' in the bottom right corner of your Calm app. While these are not specifically designed for children, we believe that people of all ages could find these exercises relaxing.
