A child’s age influences how they should be introduced to meditation, because of their stage of mental and emotional development. For this reason, we have created Calm Kids, which includes beginner meditations for various age groups up to 17 years old.
The Calm Kids meditations can be found on our website and in our Calm mobile app under the "More" tab.
That said, our full library of content is appropriate for all ages, so once you've gone through the Calm Kids meditations, we recommend exploring some of the other content available. If you aren't sure what to try, a short Body Scan session is a great place to start. We also have a College Collection in the "Beginners" category, with sessions such as a 3-minute Study Break that can be applicable to middle and high school students as well. Lastly, our Emotions Series and Winnie the Pooh sessions tend to be popular with teachers and younger audiences.
Calm also includes more than 70 Sleep Stories for Kids which can be found in the "Kids" category of the "Sleep" screen.
We also recommend exploring the Lullaby offerings as well as Calm Body and Breathing Exercises. Both of these can be found by tapping "More" in the bottom right corner of your Calm app. While these are not specifically designed for children, we believe that people of all ages could find these exercises relaxing.
